CalmDogs — Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and the maker of CalmDogs. They are short on purpose. Please read them — especially the part about what the app is not.

Who provides the app

CalmDogs is made and operated by Mikel Salinas Cordón, a self-employed individual based in Spain. There is no company behind it.

What CalmDogs is — and is not

CalmDogs is a logging and educational tool for owners of reactive dogs. It records what you choose to log, shows you patterns in it, and offers general, widely-published educational content.

It is not veterinary advice. It is not behavioral or training advice for your specific dog. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional, and it never diagnoses anything. Every number in the app is a summary of what you already logged — never a target, a prescription, or a treatment plan.

If your dog has bitten

If your dog has ever bitten a person or another animal, or you are worried about anyone's safety, work with a qualified professional: a certified trainer (CPDT-KA), a behavior consultant (IAABC), or a veterinary behaviorist (ACVB). The app's safety guidance and professional-referral content is free for everyone and always will be — it is never behind the paywall.

Your account

You can use the app anonymously, or add an email to save your progress across devices. Keep your sign-in details safe, and keep the information you give accurate. You can delete your account at any time in Settings; deletion is immediate and permanent.

Subscriptions

Some features need a paid subscription. All billing is handled by Apple through your Apple ID — CalmDogs never processes payments and never sees your card details. The price is always shown before you confirm a purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel or change your plan any time in your Apple subscription settings: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions (also reachable from Manage subscription in the app's Settings). Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms.

Acceptable use

Don't use CalmDogs for anything unlawful. Don't try to break the app, probe its security, or reach other people's data. Don't copy its content for a competing product.

Content and ownership

The app's design, text, and exercise content belong to CalmDogs' maker or its licensors. Your data is yours. These terms give CalmDogs no rights over your data beyond what is needed to run the app for you — the Privacy Policy describes exactly what that means.

What we promise, and what we can't

CalmDogs is built and maintained with care, and the aim is for it to be available and to work correctly. But it is software, made by one person, and no software is guaranteed to be error-free or uninterrupted.

Nothing in these terms removes or reduces the rights you have under Spanish and EU consumer law, including your legal guarantees when a digital service does not perform as it should.

Liability

Liability is not excluded or limited where the law does not allow it — including liability for intent, gross negligence, or anything consumer law makes mandatory.

Beyond that, the responsibility for decisions about your dog's health, behavior, and safety stays with you and with the professionals working with you. The app gives you records and patterns; it does not make those decisions, and it says so throughout.

Ending things

You can stop using CalmDogs and delete your account whenever you like. An account that seriously breaks these terms can be suspended or closed. If the app is ever discontinued, you will get reasonable notice, and Apple's refund rules apply to any paid period you have left.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the app evolves. Meaningful changes will be announced in the app. If you keep using CalmDogs after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you live in another EU country, you keep every protection of your own country's consumer law that cannot be waived by contract. You can bring any dispute before the courts of the place where you live.
